Mar Lodge Estate National Nature Reserve

Mar Lodge Estate is Britain’s largest national nature reserve, located in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park It is a wildlife wonderland and an important area for nature conservation Look out for red deer, golden eagles, red squirrels and black grouse! HIDDEN GEM: visit the picturesque Linn of Quoich (the Punch Bowl) – Queen Victoria was said to be fond of this spot

Muir of Dinnet National Nature Reserve

This nature reserve is a mosaic of wetlands, moors and woods! Burn O'Vat is located within the Nature Reserve and it is worth seeing! The walk to the Vat is a short walk from the Burn O' Vat Carpark The Vat is a geological feature formed from the last ice-age! There are also lovely walks around the nearby Loch Kinord
